2013 NFL Draft: Draft Day Rumors Before the First Round

The NFL Draft isn’t far off at this point and it looks as though this year’s first round could be the most unpredictable in years. From the lack of an elite quarterback prospect to the fact that no one knows for sure who the first pick will be, NFL fans will be scratching their heads until 8 P.M.

To muddy the waters a bit more, we’ve attempted to aggregate each rumor onto one post into a series of easily-digestable one-liners. Enjoy.

The Chiefs may actually end up drafting Eric Fisher first overall, per Jay Glazer.

The Bills like Matt Barkley more than they like Ryan Nassib, per Matt Miller.

The Cardinals won’t ‘definitely’ take an offensive lineman, per Kent Somers.

The Falcons are actively trying to trade up for one of Dee Milliner and Xavier Rhodes, according to Clark Judge.

The Jets’ No. 1 quarterback (on their draft board) is Geno Smith, per Manish Mehta.

The Browns really like Geno Smith as well and could take him at No. 6, per Mary Kay Cabot via Solomon Wilcots.

The Jaguars will select Ryan Nassib with the 33rd overall pick if he’s available, according to Ian Rapoport.

The Browns and Dolphins are strongly considering a trade involving receiver Davone Bess, per Sean Jensen. Armando Alvarez goes on to speculate that the Dolphins could draft Ryan Swope in the middle rounds, as he’s familiar with the quarterback and the system.

The Jets like Tyler Eifert but wouldn’t draft him 13th overall, according to Manish Mehta.

The Raiders and Falcons are discussing a trade that would send the third overall pick to Atlanta, per Darren Connolly. Connolly also tweets that the Raiders have the most interest of any team in running back Eddie Lacy; they could nab him at 30. That said, Connolloy tweeted that the thought around the league is that if the Raiders keep the pick, they’ll be going with Sharrif Floyd.

The Raiders and Browns are also talking about a potential trade in which Cleveland would move up to No. 3 and draft Ziggy Ansah, per Mike Silver.

The Falcons may be looking to make a more subdued move, trading up into the early 20′s for Bjoern Werner, according to Jason Cole.

The Jets could draft Barkevious Mingo in the first round, per Gil Brandt.

The Eagles could eschew conventional wisdom and draft Tavon Austin fourth overall, according to ProFootballZone (citing Sal Paolantonio).

The Bills also like Tavon Austin and have him at the top of their draft board, according to Ian Rapoport.

The Vikings are prepared to trade up for Manti Te’o, according to Ian Rapoport.
