Bills head coach Doug Marrone could consider drafting QB Ryan Nassib out of Syracuse, according to James Walker.
Marrone and Nassib were the head coach and quarterback at Syracuse for the last few seasons, a team that went 8-5 and won the Pinstripe Bowl this last season.
The problem is that the Bills need a surefire franchise quarterback; we don’t even have Nassib in the first round of our mock draft (which you can check out here).
Ryan Fitzpatrick had an awful year, considering the team’s expectations and the player’s contract, so it’s good that Marrone is looking for a different player under center. That said, Nassib doesn’t have the talent to bring a Super Bowl to Buffalo.
If Marrone uses the No. 8 pick on Nassib, it’ll be a major waste of a draft selection. Nassib is more of a second or third-round pick and simply wouldn’t be the answer for a Bills team that needs to bring in an impact player under center.
The Bills just hired a coach who went 25-25 with a Big East football team and can’t afford to also get a quarterback who had a mediocre season against sub-par competition.
