For the Buffalo Bills to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, the team absolutely has to take down the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
When reviewing the film of Week 11’s Colts-Patriots game (in which New England put up 59 point on Indianapolis in a victory), it’s clear to see that Bill Belichick had a gameplan for an aggressive Indianapolis defense.
The Colts play a lot of man coverage, but aren’t very physical at the point of attack and are susceptible to bulky targets.
Rob Gronkowski had a huge day against the Colts, hauling in seven passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns; this tight end frequently boxed out defenders for the football in man-to-man coverage, winning his matchups and winning the game for New England.
If the Bills want to win this football game, tight end Scott Chandler needs to have a huge performance. Chandler must use his size and athleticism to outmuscle linebackers and especially defensive backs for the football.
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick should look to Chandler all game, as routes like back-shoulder fades and slants are great for utilizing the Bills tight end’s 6-foot-6 frame and solid athletic ability.
The Bills would improve to 5-6 with a victory, knocking down the Colts to 6-5 and capturing a key tiebreaker for later in the season. A win is necessary.
Scott Chandler is the key factor in this contest.
