If anyone is familiar with Donny Moore, the ratings ‘czar’ for the popular video game franchise Madden NFL, one will know that he is especially active on Twitter.
Moore announced on Twitter that he’d be having a fantasy football league and inviting the first 15 or so people to reply to him with interest on the popular social media site. Luckily, I was online at the right time and I RSVP’d that I’d like to be in the league.
This all transpired a few weeks before my date of posting this article.
Upon joining the Yahoo! fantasy league (and creating myself a Yahoo! account in the process, as I didn’t have one), I noticed that the draft wouldn’t be until August 7th. I had some time to do fantasy research and prepare for what would be a good draft for a good league.
Unfortunately, I forgot to change email notifications about the league from my Yahoo! email address to my primary email address. When the draft was moved up, I was out of the loop.
I happened to go on the fantasy website today in the interest of double checking the draft date (at this point, I still didn’t know I had missed the draft). When I got on the league’s home page, I saw that I already had an autodrafted team and I knew that I’d have to do some serious damage control to make my team competitive.
It will be a fun project. I’ll be posting throughout the season on how I’m going to take this autodrafted team and make them a powerhouse.
Stay tuned!
